Town: Tampa Bay, FL Pet Parent: Lisa Conner
You may have seen Oakley in the 2010 PBS documentary "Through A Dog's Eyes," which tells the story of service dog Oakley, and how he is helping a family whose child suffers from cerebral palsy. Seven years later, the Oakley is still a vital part of the family.
• Soothing the family’s son after medical procedures (they call Oakley their son’s "dream catcher")
• Sensing when a thunderstorm is coming (they call him their "Oak-dar")
• Escaping from any kennel, no matter how secure (some call him the Houdini of dogs)
