Ask the Expert: My Dog Pees When I Get Home From Work. What Should I Do?
__Dr. Jill recently received this urgent inquiry from a fan of Milk-Bone®: Our dog always pees when we come home from work. What should we do? __
It's not uncommon for dogs with more timid or submissive personalities to pee when they are reunited with loved ones, even if you have only been away for a half hour or so. The key is to make your reunions a non-event. It’s hard to do, but hold off on all the loving, petting and baby talk until you have been home for at least 15 minutes and she is calm. If you don’t see improvement in a week or two, I recommend visiting the veterinarian to make sure your dog does not have a health issue.
